Aisatou Saho is a Gambian American creative writer, spoken word poet, editor, and aspiring curator born and raised in The Bronx, NY. She seeks to explore the intersections of her identity and faith through her poetry. She incorporates introspective and ethereal elements such as spirituality, escapism, nature, anxiety, inter-generational and religious trauma, healing, and family dynamics/culture. She aims to invite audiences to dive head first into her introspects and hopes to bring a sense of comfort and stillness while bringing her adversities to light. She also aims to contribute towards the community, especially in The Bronx, more safe and curated spaces that advocate for the creative arts, mental health, and mutual aid. She is published in BX Poetry House's first zine issue, is the current associate editor for Karma Comes Before Magazine, and has performed and featured at venues such as One Love, One Mic in Harlem.
