Denise Adabra is 21-year-old poet from London whose writing often explores themes of physicality and the nature of familial relationships, with particular focus on explaining the complexities often found in Black mother-daughter dynamics. She was on the winning 2023 University of Birmingham Unislam team, and her slogan will always be “My mother is in everything I write.”
