Imani Aisha is a versatile poet, spoken word artist, and public and motivational speaker. Imani started writing as a young child and began performing at the age 14 and had her first spoken word feature at the age of 19. The New York City native grew up writing as way to cope with childhood trauma and since then, she has been using her voice to educate and encourage others. Imani uses her spoken word and poetry to stir up a conversation about current political, communal, racial, sexual, mental health, social, and injustice issues that are faced in society today.


She is currently working on her first book and has been a featured poet at PoughETRY Fest, The SPOT, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Mock Apollo, Kinfolk, One Love Culture Fest, George Floyd’s Memorial with Spring Valley NAACP, Louis Kurtz Civic Center, The Rockland Social, Grande Fume Cigar Lounge, Spring Valley Juneteenth Festival, African American Day Parade Festival, as well as various festivals, showcases, middle/ high schools and colleges around the US. Her main goal is to promote self awareness and self love. Poetry is what sets her soul on fire and alongside God, her gift of self expression with words is what has truly kept her alive.
