Jordan Bailey is a 26 year old poet, rapper, and curator out of Charlotte NC. His journey as an artist began in the poetry scene at the age of 15, as a youth poet in Breathe Ink Poetry. He slowly climbed the ranks and has racked up several accolades such as 2018 National Slam Champions and 2019 Slam Madness Champion. In 2018 he transitioned into coaching and becoming a teaching artist for the same organization that has taught him. He is also the current Slam Charlotte coach and a part of the team, ranking 2nd at the 2024 Southern Fried Regional Poetry Slam. Jordan Bailey has sought out ways to strengthen his crafts by becoming a The Watering Hole Fellow in 2022 and 2023. Jordan has also released his first music project under the moniker Young Static and is in the process of creating his 2nd. His next goal is developing more spaces in Charlotte for poets and other local artists to explore creativity and collaborate in the process.
