Khalil Houston is a young writer, spoken word artist, and entrepreneur from the south side of Richmond, Virginia. In his years of adolescences, Khalil has always had an eye for creativity, and art. His journey as a writer began at the age of ten and was heavily impacted from the tragic loss of his three brothers to a triple homicide. From being reintroduced to trauma, poetry became essential to finding his voice in a loud world, and his goal is to teach others to do the same. He has gained his bachelor’s in English from Virginia Commonwealth University with a focus in creative black literature. He dreams of one day becoming a collegiate professor to teach young adults the art of creative writing.
