Natalie Damjanovich-Napoleon is from Walyalup/Fremantle, Australia and spent over a decade living in the US, where she gave birth to her son, inspiring her recent collection on motherhood in the wake of the first Trump presidency, If There Is a Butterfly That Drinks Tears. Her writing has appeared in Meanjin, The Australian (Review), Cordite and alongside the US poet laureate Ada Limon in a recent anthology, Dear Human. She recently completed a doctorate on erasure poetry and historic amnesia and has won both the Bruce Dawe National Poetry Prize and the KSP Poetry Prize and has been shortlisted for the internationally recognised Peter Porter Poetry Prize.
