Penehuro Williams is a queer, Samoan poet from American Sāmoa, currently residing in Las Vegas, NV. Writing under the mantra, “Show Them Who You Are,” Penehuro uses poetry to convey his life experiences, and ensures his work carries his heartbeat. He believes it is important to tell his story and hopes the art inspires others to do the same. 

  

Penehuro has competed in various regional poetry festivals like Bigfoot, Chicharra, and Utah Arts Festival. He is an Individual finalist for Chicharra and a Team finalist for Chicharra and Utah Arts Festival. Penehuro has been featured at A Space Inside in Seattle, WA, at the House of Obbie West in Las Vegas, NV, at the Moso’oi Festival of Arts and Humanities in American Sāmoa, as a Literary Artist at the Utah Arts Festival, as a performing artist with UTOPIA WA, and as a headliner with Poets Underground. His work has also been featured at the Wing Luke Museum in Seattle. Penehuro’s poetry has been published in anthologies by the University of Sāmoa, with Free the Verse online poetry magazine, and with Poets Underground.
