Salwa Jaradat(1989), is a Palestinian researcher musician based in Beirut. She holds an undergraduate degree in Media Studies and Political Science from the Modern University College -Palestine, and another bachelor degree in Musicology (Oriental Savant Music) at the Higher Institute of Music of the Antonine University – Lebanon.


She was a main vocalist and a member at the ASIL Ensemble for Contemporary Classical Arabic Music between 2016 and 2018.

From 2017, Salwa teaches singing classes at Action for Hope for Syrian and Palestinian refugees.

In 2016, Salwa Jaradat worked as an archiver at the Foundation for Arab Music Archiving & Research researching and digitizing the Arab Musical Heritage.

Throughout her work at the archive, she developed a feminist research documenting the first Arab female singers, which resulted in two shows that she performed at Metro al Madina theatre in Beirut: Huna Al-Quds ( هنا†القد†س†), which was based on recordings from the radio station with the same name, from Jerusalem in 1936 and Awalem Share' Imadiddin (عوالم†شارع†عماد†الدين†) reflecting on the role of women singers in 19th century music.


Farah Kaddour Bio:


Farah Kaddour is a Beirut-based musician.  She holds a master’s degree in Musicology from the Antonine University.  She works mainly in the field of folk and classical Arabic music.  A member of many music ensembles as a composer and Buzuq player.  She also works as a Program Officer at Action for Hope, specifically on music-related projects.
